Sarah Nielsen has always had a passion for design. With her father working construction and a woodworker on the side, she began building and designing at a young age. She attended Iowa State University, graduating in 2013 with a BFA emphasizing in Woodworking with a Minor in Business. In 2014, she started at Showplace Cabinetry Design Center as an Assistant Designer/Customer Service representative. Within two years, she rose to be a full-time designer. With her background in woodworking, she strives for a function-oriented design to create one of a kind spaces that work well for the client.

Sarah enjoys learning about new products and design techniques to better service her clients. Her goal is to achieve the spaces the client has always dreamed of. She is currently a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer and working on a Certification in Aging in Place with ADA guidelines. Sarah is passionate about being involved in the community and the building industry in the Des Moines Area. She sits on the Leadership Board for the local NKBA chapter. She is also an active member for the Des Moines Area Professional Women in Building and Des Moines Area HBA.

Ashley Rinehart is a versatile designer who is known for her customer service and 3D rendering skills. She has a passion for working with each client’s unique taste and bringing their visions to life. Ashley graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with her BFA in Interior Design in May of 2022 and has been with Showplace ever since. Outside of the office you can find her at the barn working with her horse, enjoying her friends and family, or tinkering around the house with her two cats.

Education: Associate of Arts degree in Interior Design | Long Beach, CA.

I am a graduate of the University of Guadalajara with a B.A. in Business Administration in 2003. I have over 19 years of experience in Customer service plus 7 in Countertops and Construction in general; and just love it.

I really enjoy engaging with people and talking to them, I enjoy what I call “The culture of service”.
