Modern Refresh to a 1960’s Classic

The goal of this kitchen remodel was to modernize and open the footprint of a 1967 home while honoring its Mid-Century Modern roots. The refreshed layout improves flow and functionality without losing the clean lines and timeless appeal that define the era.

Thoughtful cabinetry details elevate the design throughout the space. A striking two-tone display curio cabinet creates a focal point and adds visual interest, while pocket doors hide a microwave and coffee bar, keeping the countertops clean and uncluttered. A large workstation sink anchors the kitchen, paired with convenient chase drawers below to maximize efficiency during prep and cleanup.

The result is a kitchen that feels open, modern, and highly functional—while staying true to the home’s original architectural style.

The curio’s look was achieved by ordering the doors separately and installing them on the jobsite.
